FALL SPORTS 2021 TRYOUT INFORMATION - 1ST DAY OF TRYOUTS BEGINS 2/13

Make sure all paperwork is complete or online submission complete 

Practices begin after tryouts are completed

NO WALK UPS WILL BE PERMITTED TO TRY OUT

Instructions for Sports Registration

  1. Go to  https://www.hcpss.org/connect/
  2. Do not use your Mobile Phone.
  3. Login to your HCPSS Connect Portal (Parents & Guardian MUST use the parental login.  Using your students log in information will not allow you to register); Once logged in, go to the menu on the left and click the bottom option More Options (Family File, Reports Cards, etc.).  ​If you have more than one student make sure you have selected the student from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.) 
  4. Click on Athletic Registration on the right-hand side menu, select the correct season Fall/Winter/Spring. 
  5. Complete all the forms: Parent Authorization Form, Sudden Cardiac Arrest Form, Concussion, please complete all additional documents…Do not skip or leave any boxes blank. 
  6. Upload the following forms: Physical Examination Form dated on/after April 1, 2020. Upload ALL pages of the Physical Examination Form.  Older physicals will not be accepted.
  7. Upload a RECENT Utility bill.  Older Utility bills will not be accepted.  Utility (BGE, Potomac Edison, Solar,...Water, Cable/Satellite are allowed)  **No Cell Phone Bills will be accepted** 

**Reminder Physicals for Athletics are different from those used to register to attend school. The Athletic Physical includes a Clearance without restrictions by Medical Staff.

Please, make sure Physicals have all signatures (Parent/Guardian, Athlete, and Physician) before scanning and uploading.  Fall 2020 physicals can be used for Winter 2020 and Spring 2021 season, Winter physicals can be used for Spring.  Athletes will need a new physical for the next school year, dated no earlier than April 1st of the previous school year.

BOOSTERS SPORTS PHYSICALS

In partnership with First Call Urgent Care, Boosters offers affordable sports physicals to current River Hill students and incoming freshmen.
 
Howard County Public School System policy requires every athlete to have a physical exam dated after
April 1, 2020 in order to try out for any high school sport for this school year.

HELP US SUPPORT HOMEWOOD SCHOOL

More than 60% of Homewood's alternative education students qualify for Free and Reduced Meals. Since Homewood does not have a PTA, we are hoping our Hawk community can step in and help stock their socially distant Treasure Sale.
 
This year Homewood School needs friends, families, and the community more than ever. They have a goal to collect over 1,000 new items using the Homewood Treasure Sale Wish List. Amazon will ship your donation directly to the Homewood Center. Thank you for looking at their list and making this a special December for a young person in need.

DONATION FOR RECREATION
