The River Hill High School PTSA participates in the National PTA Reflections program

 

 

2024 - 2025 Theme: "Accepting Imperfection"

 

 

 

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme while increasing community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

 

The 2024–2025 PTA Reflections Arts Program has a new theme, "Accepting Imperfection", which is intended to inspire students to express their creativity while embracing their unique perspectives.

Students may submit an entry in any of the six arts areas listed below. Only original works of art are accepted. Depending on state and local PTA guidelines, students may enter more than one work of art. The six arts areas are as follows.

Submitting Your Entry

Please read carefully:

  

 

1. Download, save and complete the National PTA Reflections® Program Student Entry Form 2024-2025 This is a fillable PDF file.  You should fill in all the required fields and save the PDF form.  You will be uploading this form with your submission. 

 

 a. A TITLE is REQUIRED (“Untitled” is not a title). Each participant is required to submit an artist statement that describes what inspired him or her to create the work and how it relates to the theme.

 

b. The ARTIST STATEMENT is MANDATORY for all entries in all grade divisions. The statement may be 10 to 100 words. The Student Entry Form provides a space to type the artist statement; if the statement does not fit in the space given, it must be written on a separate page and labeled in the lower right corner according to the directions given for the rules of the specific art area.

 

2. Read the rules for each of the six areas above and use them as guidelines for preparing your submission.  Students may enter in one or more categories. Submit a copy of your artwork in correct format (below) and keep your artwork safely with you in your possession. ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ONLINE THIS YEAR.

 

Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.

 

Accessible Arts Division Rules

 

Submit a copy of your artwork through the online form and keep your artwork safely with you in your possession. ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ONLINE THIS YEAR. 

 

Dance Choreography and Film Production entries must be submitted in MP4 or AVI format. Video file must not exceed 5 minutes in length and 1,000 MB (1,000 megabyte) in file size.  Music Composition entries must be submitted in MP3 or WAV format. Audio recording must not exceed 5 minutes in length and 1,000 MB (1,000 megabyte) in file size. Photography and Visual Arts entries must be submitted in JPEG, JPG or PNG format. Literature and scores as required for Music Composition must be submitted in PDF format.

 

3.  Submit your completed National PTA Reflections® Program Student Entry Form 2024-2025 and submission with the form below no later than Monday, Nov 25, 5 pm.

The top three winning entries in each category will be forwarded from RHHS PTSA to the PTA Council of Howard County (PTACHC) in mid-December for judging.  Winning PTACHC entries will be forwarded to the state PTA organization, Free State PTSA, in late January for judging.  State winners will advance to the National PTA Reflections judging, and national winners will be announced in May
